Babcock Neighborhood School and Babcock High School are charter schools of choice located in Charlotte County, Florida. Founded by the Charter Application and Charter Bylaws, Babcock Schools are governed by the Babcock Schools Governing Board. Members have been recruited from a pool of local educational, business and community leaders. They meet every other month with upcoming meetings found below.
Our current board members are:
Gregory K. Adkins, Ed.D. – Retired Superintendent of Schools for the School District of Lee County, Florida 2015 – 2021. Professional educator with the Lee County School District 1988 – 2021. Currently serves as President, Rotary Fort Myers East and as a member of the FGCU Agribusiness Advisory Committee. He and his wife are co-owner and operators of a small farm in Buckingham, Florida.
Robert Kenny, Ph.D. – Dr. Robert Kenny holds a Ph.D. in Educational Media-Instructional Design from the University of Florida and has extensive experience in education, instructional design, and technology across K-12, community organizations, and industry. He is currently a Provost Professor and academic liaison to Babcock Ranch, previously serving as chair of graduate programs at Florida Gulf Coast University and chair of the Collier County School districtwide workforce and college readiness advisory task force. With over 25 years in the computer software industry and more than eight years teaching in PK-12, Dr. Kenny is a National Board Certified teacher and author of two books on media education. His research, with over 1,500 citations, is widely recognized in top research journals. Dr. Kenny and his wife, Alessandra, are full-time residents of Babcock Ranch.
Tom Hall – President of TLH Consulting Group LLC., providing non legal consulting services to people and entities doing business with the Florida Court System. Mr. Hall is also an appellate lawyer with Bishop & Mills (with offices in Jacksonville and Tallahassee) and handles appeals in all six of Florida’s appellate courts. He is also a Trustee of the Florida First Amendment Foundation and of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society. Mr. Hall is former Clerk of the Court of the Florida Supreme Court. He also teaches extensively on a number of legal issues nationally and in Florida specifically on Florida’s Public Meeting and Open Records laws.
Natalie Bolton, Ph.D. – Associate Professor and Director of Quality Assurance for the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Education. Currently leads a $4 million grant to embed translational research related to the science of learning with post-doctoral fellows in St. Louis charter schools and other area public schools. Dr. Bolton works with schools and education organizations in the U.S. and internationally on designing and critiquing cognitive and affective assessments, developing and refining standards-based grading and reporting systems, conducting program evaluations, and supporting professional learning related to the science of learning and assessment literacy. She has prior experiences as a middle school teacher and assistant principal, state Social Studies Consultant, and Co-Director of a Center of Excellence in Education.
Jennifer Languell, Ph.D. – Dr. Jennifer Languell has been a prominent advocate for green building and sustainable design for over 28 years. She leads initiatives to integrate environmentally responsible practices into construction, guiding clients from diverse industries in creating high-performance, sustainable projects. Her expertise helps balance financial investment with environmental impact, addressing increasing demands for energy efficiency and resource conservation. She has been featured in major media outlets like BusinessWeek, CNN Headline News, and HGTV, and served as a technical advisor on the Discovery Channel’s “Discovery Project Earth.”

Public input is vital to the improvement of Babcock Neighborhood School, Inc. and because we value public input, all comments will be heard at the beginning of the meeting prior to action on agenda items. We welcome your remarks and request that they are delivered in a respectful manner. Board members, the Executive Director and staff will not respond to questions/comments or engage in dialogue during public comment but will only listen. This does not mean it is listened to with any less intensity or concern. We thank you for taking the time and having the concern to make our school better.
All citizens wishing to address the Governing Board must fill out an online request form prior to the start of board meeting with their name, address, contact information, and topic. Citizens will be called by the Chairman in the order the online forms were received. If a citizen is addressing the Governing Board via zoom, that individual’s camera must be turned on when speaking.
