When is the Giving Challenge?

Noon to Noon, April 15-16, 2026

What is the Giving Challenge?

The Giving Challenge is an exciting online 24-hour online giving event that connects about 700 nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members to support diverse causes and create enduring impact in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, and DeSoto counties.  By donating to Babcock Neighborhood School, Inc. during this time, your impact is doubled due to the generosity of the Giving Challenge, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Sarasota and strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.

How Do I Give?

You can Donate Online Here: https://www.givingchallenge.org/organizations/babcock-neighborhood-school-high-school. During the Giving Challenge, all funds donated online to Babcock Neighborhood School, Inc. will be matched 1:1 up to a total of $100. This means $25 becomes $50; $50 becomes $100; and $100 becomes $200!

If you are generously able to give more than $100, we ask that you do so as a unique individual or business in increments of $100, so each donation will be matched. Please reach out to mlewter@babcockneighborhoodschool.org with any questions.

How else can I help?

BeTheOne! Please be a part of this year’s Giving Challenge. Encourage your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to donate.  As always, we thank you for your support and generosity of Babcock Neighborhood School, Inc. and for helping us provide an exceptional education and opportunities for our students.

Why Give to Babcock Neighborhood School – Our Story

Play Boldly. Learn Deeply. Launch Big Ideas.

Babcock Neighborhood School and Babcock High School are growing fast. In just a few years, we’ve constructed new buildings, hired amazing teachers, and created a strong learning culture from Kindergarten through high school.

Now, we’re focusing on two exciting fundraising goals for the 2026 Giving Challenge:

1. A New Playground for Grades K–5

The current playground is the original one from our first campus in Founder’s Square. It served us well in the early days, but with more students and more space, it’s time for an upgrade. We’re excited to build a new, modern playground that matches the creativity, energy, and growth of our students today.

2. More STEM Opportunities for Grades K-12

From building with Legos to creating 3D-printed prototypes, STEM helps students think critically, solve problems, and prepare for real careers. We want to expand our tools and technology to support hands-on learning at every level.

These goals support the whole child by building confidence through play and curiosity through STEM.

Why It Matters
As a public charter school, we don’t receive the same funding as traditional public schools. That’s why every donation matters. Your support gives our students more chances to explore, create, and grow.

How You Can Help
Your donation will help us:

  • Build a new, state-of-the-art playground
  • Add STEM tools and Design Lab materials
  • Support cross-campus collaboration between younger and older students
  • Influence real-world learning as we prepare students for their next steps

Together, we can help every student play boldly, learn deeply, and discover how they connect their learning to the world around them.

Thank you for being part of our story.
